Cumnock History Group celebrates £10,000 Heritage Lottery Fund grant

Cumnock History Group has received a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) Sharing Heritage grant, it was announced today. This exciting project, Pennylands Camp 22 on the Dumfries House Estate and led by Cumnock History Group, has been given £10,000 to explore the history of this WWII POW Camp.

‘Everyday People: Untold Stories’ is an innovative participatory project that is gathering stories of people and communities from ethnic backgrounds living in West Dunbartonshire and the surrounding area. The project is also conducting research into the positive impact made by different ethnic groups in Scotland since World War I.

Securing the Memories of Gairloch Parish

Gairloch Heritage Museum’s ‘Securing the Memories’ oral history research project is seeking to record ‘living history’ memories from within the community and further afield. With funding from Museums Galleries Scotland and The Robertson Trust, the project aims to discover more about how people used to live, and what it was like to use objects similar to the ones we have on display in our museum.
